Overview

The Green Bubble Coral (Plerogyra sinuosa) is a show-stopping LPS (Large Polyp Stony) coral that looks like a cluster of water balloons or grapes. During the day, it expands its “bubbles” (water-filled vesicles) to capture light; at night, these retract to reveal long, stinging tentacles used for hunting. While the classic “White” Bubble Coral is common, the Neon Green variety is highly prized for its metallic, glowing appearance.

Coloration: Soft mint to neon electric green with subtle striped patterns on the bubbles.
Growth Pattern: Mounding (builds a heavy, grape-like calcified skeleton).
Lighting: Low to Medium (PAR 100–150).
Water Flow: Low (Too much flow can cause the bubbles to tear against the sharp skeleton).
Feeding: Very “hungry”—readily eats mysis, brine, or chopped krill.
Aggressiveness: High (has powerful sweeper tentacles).
Care Level: Easy to Moderate.

Sold as a piece 3-4 inches.
