Duncan coral is a popular Large Polyp Stony (LPS) coral that features long, flowing tentacles and a distinct tree-like skeleton. Duncans are famously hardy and are often considered one of the best “beginner” corals because they are very forgiving of varying water conditions. Unlike many other corals, they stay open throughout the day and night, providing constant movement in the aquarium. They can grow fairly quickly, sprouting new heads from the base of their stalks to form a large, impressive colony.
