The Jason Fox Fairy Ring Favia (Favites / Dipsastraea sp.) is a highly coveted collector-grade brain coral created and lineaged by Jason Fox. Famed for its hypnotic visual contrast and hyper-saturated pigments, this designer morph features deep violet to royal-purple corallite valleys, capped by neon-cyan rims, and centered around glowing, electric-lime or yellow oral eyes.
Its distinct “ringed” corallite structure creates a striking, geometric pattern across the colony that instantly draws the eye in high-end LPS collections.
Coloration: Deep royal-purple to indigo valleys, framed by neon-cyan to turquoise corallite rings, and stamped with bright lime-green or neon-yellow oral eyes. Sold as frags on a 0.5 – 1 inch frag plug.
Growth Pattern: Encrusting / Platy (encrusts tightly over rockwork, plugs, and tiles, building dense, multi-eyed honeycomb colonies).
Lighting: Low to Moderate (PAR 75–150).
Water Flow: Moderate (Medium, indirect sweeping current to prevent detritus from settling in the valleys).
Feeding: Active nocturnal feeder; extends short feeder tentacles after dark to capture fine planktonic foods, mysis shrimp, and micro-pellets.
Aggressiveness: Aggressive (extends sweeper tentacles at night that can sting closely positioned corals).
Care Level: Easy to Moderate (Hardy once established, but benefits from stable parameters to maintain crisp ring definition).
