Overview
The Burgundy and Light Green Welsophyllia (often referred to as a “Christmas” or “Watermelon” morph depending on the pattern) is a striking, regal addition to a sand bed. In this specific colorway, the deep, wine-red burgundy usually occupies the thick, fleshy “valleys,” while the light mint or neon green highlights the ridged “peaks” and the central mouths. This contrast makes it one of the most visible corals in the tank, especially under 2026-standard hybrid LED/T5 lighting.
Coloration: Deep burgundy or maroon base with contrasting light green, teal, or mint-colored “rims” and mouths.

Lighting: Low to Moderate (PAR 80–120).
Water Flow: Low (gentle, consistent movement).
Feeding: High (highly responsive to meaty foods).
Aggressiveness: Peaceful (stings only on direct contact).
Care Level: Easy to Moderate.
