The Bloody Vampire Zoa (Zoanthus sp.) is a dark, menacing designer zoanthid celebrated for its gothic, high-contrast palette. Living up to its spooky moniker, this morph features a deep obsidian-purple to jet-black face disc centered around a stark white or pale silver eye, surrounded by a dramatic ring of bleeding crimson-red radial streaks, and finished off with a fringe of jet-black to blood-red skirt tentacles.

Its dark, blood-splattered aesthetic provides an incredible visual break when placed alongside bright neon-green or yellow polyp colonies.

Coloration: Deep obsidian-purple or black face disc, surrounded by bleeding crimson-red radial streaks and orange and green skirt tentacles. Sold as 2-3 polyps.

Growth Pattern: Colonial mat (encrusts across rockwork, plugs, or sandbed islands, forming tight, compact carpets).

Lighting: Low to Moderate (PAR 75–150).

Water Flow: Low to Medium (Gentle to moderate sweeping current).

Feeding: Photosynthetic; optional spot-feeding with fine micro-plankton powders or liquid amino acids will boost polyp size and budding rate.

Aggressiveness: Peaceful (can safely touch and grow alongside other Zoanthus species in a mixed garden).

Care Level: Easy.
