The Vivid Confetti Acropora is widely considered the “King of the Tenuis” and is a masterpiece of modern coral aquaculture. Originally popularized by Vivid Aquariums, this coral is famous for its chaotic, multi-colored appearance that looks like a party explosion on a branch. What makes the Confetti unique is its base-to-tip contrast: it typically features a glowing yellow or lime green base, transitioning into pink or purple branches, topped with screaming blue or teal growth tips—all covered in bright red or orange polyps.
Coloration: A wild “tri-color” or “quad-color” morph; expect a yellow/green body, pinkish-purple branches, and electric blue tips with high-contrast red polyps.
Size: Sold as 1–1.5 inch “chunky” frags. It is a tenuis species, meaning it grows in a beautiful, dense bushy cluster rather than long, thin branches.
Lighting: High to Very High (350–500 PAR). Intense lighting is required to prevent the yellow base from turning green and to keep the tips that signature electric blue.
Water flow: High and Random. Like most high-end tenuis, it thrives in turbulent water that keeps its thin skin clean and its polyps extended.
Feeding: Highly Recommended. It is a very “hungry” Acropora. Target feeding with liquid aminos or fine coral “snow” at night will significantly increase its growth rate and color depth.
Aggressiveness: Peaceful to other Acropora, but it will quickly encrust and dominate any non-SPS neighbors.
Care Level: Expert. This is a high-performance coral; it requires the “Golden Ratio” of stability—consistent Alkalinity, high flow, and intense lighting.
