Cornbred Flaming Unicorn Acropora

Overview:

The Cornbred (CB) Flaming Unicorn Acropora is one of the most legendary “high-end” SPS corals in the hobby. It is a “Tenuis” variety, which are known for having the most incredible, multi-colored potential of all Acropora. The Flaming Unicorn is famous for its “tri-color” (and sometimes quad-color) transition: it features a lime-green or yellow base that shifts into a fiery orange or pink middle, topped off with intense “electric” blue or purple growth tips. It is the definition of a “collector’s piece” and is often the centerpiece of a high-energy SPS reef.

Colorization:

This Acropora frag showcases a stunning gradient of neon green/yellow, transitioning to hot pink or orange, with vivid blue or violet terminal tips.

Size:

Typically offered as a small frag on a  0.5 – 1 inch frag plug, it quickly grows to form intricate branching structures with proper care.

Lighting:

Thrives under moderate to high-intensity lighting conditions such as metal halide, T5s, or strong LEDs to maintain its vivid coloration and encourage healthy growth.

Water Flow:

Prefers moderate to strong turbulent water flow to simulate natural reef conditions, helping to remove detritus and ensure optimal health.

Feeding:

While primarily photosynthetic, supplementary feedings with planktonic foods and coral-specific nutrition can promote faster growth and brighter colors.

Aggressiveness:

This coral is relatively non-aggressive but requires appropriate spacing to prevent contact with neighboring corals to avoid stress or damage.
