The Bird of Paradise Acropora (Acropora sp., frequently mislabeled in the trade alongside the famous Seriatopora Birdnest, but distinct in its true Acropora growth habbit) is an exceptional, vibrant Small Polyp Stony (SPS) coral celebrated for its bright tropical coloration. Highlighting a multi-colored neon spectrum, this cultivar features an electric canary-yellow to lime-green coenosteum (tissue base) densely studded with fluffy violet-blue to purple corallites and growth tips that glow under actinic lighting.

Coloration: Radiant canary-yellow, golden-lime, or chartreuse skeletal base tissue, contrasting with vivid metallic violet-blue or lavender-purple polyps and axial tips.

Growth Pattern: Arborescent / Bushy Staghorn (forms a solid encrusted base pad before sending up thick, highly branched vertical and lateral stalks that mature into a dense cluster). Sold as a frag on a 0.5 – 1 inch frag plug.

Lighting: High (PAR 250–350).

Water Flow: High to Very High (Strong, randomized turbulent flow to drive calcification and keep internal branch intersections clean).

Feeding: Photosynthetic; extends fine micro-polyps day and night to absorb liquid amino acids, micro-plankton powders, and fine particulate SPS feeds.

Aggressiveness: Peaceful / Defenseless (lacks stinging sweeper tentacles; relies on fast calcification to compete for real estate, but easily stung by aggressive LPS or soft corals).

Care Level: Moderate to Advanced (Requires an established system, high PAR, and precise, stable reef water chemistry to maintain bright yellow pigmentation without turning brown).
