Fascination Favia

The Fascination Favia (Favites sp. / Dipsastraea sp., originally lineaged by World Wide Corals – WWC) is an ultra-vibrant, high-contrast Large Polyp Stony (LPS) brain coral sought after by collector reefers for its striking tri-color intensity. Characterized by deep ruby-red or crimson oral discs, this cultivar features contrasting electric lime-green or chartreuse corallite walls that are intricately lined with metallic orange septal ridges, making it an absolute standout under actinic lighting.

Coloration: Deep ruby-red or cherry-red mouth eyes, encircled by glowing chartreuse-to-emerald green inner rings and framed by golden-orange septal grooves along the outer corallite walls.

Growth Pattern: Encrusting to Sub-massive (forms a thick, tight-knit skeletal sheet over rockwork or ceramic frag tiles before slowly building into a low dome or mound). Sold as a frag on a 0.5 to 1 inch frag plug.

Lighting: Low to Moderate (PAR 75–150).

Water Flow: Moderate (Randomized, indirect current to keep the ribbed corallite channels free of detritus without blasting the delicate tissue).

Feeding: Active nocturnal feeder; extends clear, sticky feeder tentacles from each eye after lights-out to accept micro-pellets, mysis shrimp, liquid amino acids, and fine particulate LPS diets.

Aggressiveness: Aggressive (extends clear sweeper tentacles at night up to 1.5–2 inches that will sting and burn neighboring corals upon contact).

Care Level: Easy to Moderate (Hardy, adaptable, and highly resilient to parameter fluctuations once acclimated).
