Anthelia, often called Waving Hand Coral, is a fast-growing soft coral known for its long, delicate stalks topped with feathery, eight-tentacled polyps. It is frequently confused with Pulse Coral (Xenia), but unlike Xenia, Anthelia does not “pulse” its hands and generally has much longer, more flowing tentacles. It is one of the hardiest corals in the hobby, making it a favorite for beginners who want to add significant “billowing” movement to their reef.
