The Yellow Clove Polyps (Clavularia sp.) are a peaceful, highly dynamic soft coral prized for their delicate, feather-like appearance and constant movement in the reef tank. Unlike common brown or dull tan cloves, this desirable morph features eight feathery, pinnate tentacles coated in a brilliant metallic gold to canary-yellow glow, often accented by a bright green or white central mouth and fine, shimmering pinnules that sway dramatically in the current.

Coloration: Bright canary-yellow to metallic gold feathered tentacles, often centered around a white or neon-green mouth ring.

Growth Pattern: Stoloniferous colonial mat (spreads by sending out thin, runner-like tissue stolons across rockwork, plugs, and glass, sprouting individual flower-like polyp heads). Sold as a frag on a 0.5 – 1 inch frag plug.

Lighting: Low to Moderate (PAR 75–125).

Water Flow: Moderate to High (Requires sufficient current to keep its delicate, feathery pinnules constantly waving and free of detritus).

Feeding: Photosynthetic; absorbs dissolved organics and liquid amino acids (rarely captures solid micro-foods due to small polyp structure).

Aggressiveness: Peaceful (completely harmless and lacks stinging stinging tentacles, but can overgrow nearby slow-growing sessile corals).

Care Level: Easy (Hardy, fast-growing, and adaptable to a wide range of system setups).
