Red and Blue Yuma Mushroom

The Red and Blue Yuma Mushroom (Ricordea yuma) is a striking, high-contrast soft coral that brings a warm, fiery pop to the cool-toned bottom of a reef tank. Famous for its plush, carpet-like texture, this morph features a deep red, crimson, or bright coral-pink disc covered in bubbly vesicles, framed by an icy-blue, violet, or teal skirt and rim.

Its vivid blend of warm red and cool blue makes it one of the most eye-catching non-rainbow Yumas in the hobby.

Coloration: Vibrant red to crimson-pink body covered in rounded vesicles, bordered by a contrasting blue, lavender, or cyan rim.

Size: 2-3 inches

Lighting: Low to Moderate (PAR 50–100).

Water Flow: Low to Gentle.

Feeding: Photosynthetic, but absorbs dissolved organic nutrients and fine particulate coral foods.

Aggressiveness: Semi-aggressive (will sting nearby corals if they touch its tissue directly).

Care Level: Moderate (Prone to “Yuma Melt” if introduced to sudden environment shifts).
