The Blow Pop Zoa (Zoanthus sp.)—often distributed as the Ultimate Blow Pop Zoa by major propagators like World Wide Corals—is a bright, classic, high-contrast zoanthid prized for its playful candy-like color scheme and ultra-fast growth rate. A staple for both entry-level reefers and experienced zoa garden builders, this morph features a vibrant deep blue-to-violet oral disc, a glowing pinkish-orange central core, and brilliant, neon-yellow or lime-green skirt tentacles that pop intensely under blue actinic lighting.
Coloration: Deep blue to oral disc with a contrasting bright pinkish-orange or yellow mouth, framed by long, radioactive neon-green to bright yellow skirt tentacles.
Growth Pattern: Colonial mat (encrusts rapidly across rockwork, plugs, and tiles to form thick, carpet-like polyp colonies). Sold as 2-3 polyps.
Lighting: Low to Moderate (PAR 75–150).
Water Flow: Low to Moderate (Gentle, indirect sweeping current).
Feeding: Photosynthetic; responds well to optional target feeding with micro-plankton powders, coral amino acids, or fine liquid feeds to accelerate budding.
Aggressiveness: Peaceful (safe to mix alongside other Zoanthus cultivars on a shared zoa garden structure).
Care Level: Easy (Exceptionally resilient, highly adaptable, and one of the easiest zoanthids to acclimate and grow).
