Smurf Zoa

The Smurf Zoa (often lineaged as the TSA Smurfette or Papa Smurf Zoa, Zoanthus sp.) is a brightly colored, high-contrast collector zoanthid named after its cartoonish, sky-blue face disc. Celebrated for adding true blue pop to mixed-reef zoa gardens, this cultivar features a brilliant cyan to powder-blue oral face, centered around a pale white or light blue mouth, encircled by a soft metallic ring and long, radioactive neon-yellow to bright lime-green skirt tentacles that glow intensely under blue actinics.

Coloration: Electric powder-blue to cyan face disc, highlighted by a white-to-light-blue mouth, framed by a soft grey-blue inner ring and long, radioactive neon-yellow to lime skirts.

Growth Pattern: Colonial mat (encrusts across rockwork, plugs, and tiles to form low-profile, carpet-like polyp colonies).

Lighting: Low to Moderate (PAR 75–125).

Water Flow: Low to Moderate (Gentle, indirect sweeping current).

Feeding: Photosynthetic; responds well to optional target feeding with micro-plankton powders, coral amino acids, or liquid feeds to encourage faster budding.

Aggressiveness: Peaceful (safe to mix alongside other Zoanthus cultivars on a shared zoa garden structure).

Care Level: Easy to Moderate (Hardy once acclimated, maintaining its bright blue face disc under blue-heavy LED lighting).
