Overview:

The Double Head Rainbow Hammer Coral (Fimbriaphyllia paraancora) is a genetically unique and visually stunning branching Euphyllia coral prized in reef aquariums. Known for its vibrant and shifting colors under high-actinic blue lighting, this coral features two distinct heads with tentacles that create a captivating lava-lamp effect. Easier to frag and maintain than wall varieties, it offers both sustainability and a high-end aesthetic to any reef setup.

Colorization:

This coral boasts a captivating multi-tonal blend of gold, orange, and copper stalks combined with neon tips that may appear green, purple, or pink, creating a radiant spectrum across its tentacles.

Size:

Featuring two full heads, this specimen provides a balanced and manageable presence in your reef tank, ideal for both display and propagation.

Lighting:

Optimal lighting ranges from 125 to 200 PAR. Moderate light enhances its vibrant colors, but excessive light may bleach the gold hues to pale yellow, while insufficient lighting can dull the coloration to muddy green tones.

Water Flow:

Prefers medium and indirect water flow allowing tentacles to rhythmically sway without being flattened or slammed, which helps maintain coral health and polyp extension.

Feeding:

While primarily deriving energy from lighting, this coral benefits from weekly feedings of mysis shrimp or specialized LPS pellets to support growth and vibrancy.

Aggressiveness:

Generally peaceful but requires ample space to avoid close contact with other corals to prevent aggression-related damage.

Care Level:

Moderate care is required, including maintaining stable alkalinity and calcium levels, and avoiding sudden changes in salinity to ensure optimal coral health and coloration.
