The Midnight Princess Favia (Dipsastraea sp., historically classified under Favia) is an elegant, regal Large Polyp Stony (LPS) coral celebrated for its deep, moody hues and glowing, high-contrast centers. A favorite among brain coral collectors, this striking morph features thick-ribbed corallite walls in a rich, velvety dark indigo-to-deep purple or midnight blue, contrasting dramatically with brilliant neon-green, chartreuse, or teal oral discs that illuminate intensely under blue actinic lighting.

Coloration: Deep midnight blue, dark navy, or dark purple skeletal walls, set against glowing neon-green to chartreuse-teal oral discs and mouths.

Growth Pattern: Encrusting and Dome-forming (forms compact, low-profile encrusting mats that gradually mature into thick, rounded brain-like domes). Sold as a frag on a 0.5 – 1in frag plug.

Lighting: Low to Moderate (PAR 75–150).

Water Flow: Low to Moderate (Gentle, indirect sweeping current).

Feeding: Active nocturnal LPS carnivore; extends short translucent feeder tentacles after dark to capture mysis shrimp, micro-plankton, and LPS particulate pellets.

Aggressiveness: Aggressive (produces clear, stinging sweeper tentacles at night to defend surrounding space).

Care Level: Easy to Moderate (Hardy, highly adaptable, and a fantastic, resilient choice for established LPS displays).
