War Favia

The War Coral Favia (Favites pentagona or Dipsastraea sp.) is an iconic, aggressive brain coral famous for its fiery, high-contrast coloration and tight, honeycomb growth pattern. A cornerstone piece of the classic collector hobby, this morph features a deep crimson-red to burgundy valley base studded with striking, neon lime-green to yellow corallite eyes, giving it a vibrant “war paint” aesthetic that stands out dramatically under both daylight and heavy blue actinics.

Coloration: Crimson-red to deep maroon valleys with neon lime-green or bright yellow corallite centers.

Growth Pattern: Encrusting / Platy (encrusts tightly over rockwork, plugs, or structures, forming dense, multi-eyed colonies). WYSIWYG.
