The ACI Poison Berry Psammacora (Psammocora sp., lineaged directly from Aquatic Collection Inc.) is an extraordinary, high-contrast Small Polyp Stony (SPS) coral celebrated for its neon toxic color scheme and fine velvet-like texture. Highly prized by collector reefers, this designer cultivar features a deep purple to dark indigo coenosteum (base tissue) densely covered in long, hairy micro-polyps that shift from electric chartreuse-green to fiery poison-berry pink at the growth tips under blue actinics.

Coloration: Deep violet, dark purple, or indigo base tissue, densely covered in glowing neon chartreuse-green micro-polyps with bright magenta-pink to berry-orange growth highlights.

Growth Pattern: Encrusting and Columnar (forms a thick encrusting sheet over surfaces before pushing up short, blunted, digit-like ridges or small pillars as the colony matures). Sold as a frag on a 0.5 – 1 inch frag plug.

Lighting: Moderate (PAR 125–200).

Water Flow: Moderate to High (Randomized multi-directional current to maintain full polyp expansion and prevent detritus accumulation within its textured ridges).

Feeding: Photosynthetic; extends fine micro-polyps continuously day and night to capture liquid amino acids, micro-plankton powders, and fine particulate SPS feeds.

Aggressiveness: Peaceful to Semi-Aggressive (lacks long stinging sweeper tentacles, but can steadily encrust over static neighbors if allowed to contact them directly).

Care Level: Easy to Moderate (Exceptionally hardy and resilient for an SPS coral, tolerant of minor parameter fluctuations, making it a great entry-level stony coral).
