Psammocora coral is a unique Small Polyp Stony (SPS) coral that features a fuzzy, velvet-like texture due to its tiny, recessed polyps. Often referred to as “Sandpaper Coral,” it is much hardier than many other SPS varieties, making it a great choice for hobbyists looking to add diverse texture to their reef. It can grow in an encrusting or sub-branching fashion, eventually covering rockwork with a thick carpet of vibrant color.
