The Angel Eyes Favia (often classified under Favites or Dipsastraea) is a stunning, high-contrast brain coral loved for its vibrant pastel and neon tones. Named for its glowing “eyes” that stand out dramatically against its surrounding walls, this coral forms dense, encrusting boulders that add incredible color and structure to the lower levels of a reef tank.
Coloration: Typically features bright metallic green, teal, or yellow “eyes” (corallite centers) set against a soft violet, lavender, or deep blue surrounding wall.
Growth Pattern: Encrusting/Massive (spreads over rockwork into a rounded, brain-like dome). Sold as a frag on a 0.5 – 1 inch frag plug.
Lighting: Low to Moderate (PAR 75–125).
