Inferno Favia

The Inferno Favia (Dipsastraea sp., historically classified under Favia, often lineaged by Top Shelf Aquatics as the TSA Inferno Favia) is a fiery, high-contrast Large Polyp Stony (LPS) coral celebrated for its molten, embers-and-ash aesthetic. Highly sought after by brain coral collectors, this striking cultivar features deep crimson-to-crimson red corallite walls that frame electric gold-yellow to neon-lime oral discs and glowing orange mouths, creating a intense, lava-like glow under blue actinic LEDs.

Coloration: Fiery metallic red to deep crimson corallite walls, contrasted by glowing electric gold-yellow to neon-green oral centers and bright yellow-orange mouths.

Growth Pattern: Encrusting and Dome-forming (forms compact, low-profile encrusting mats that gradually mature into thick, rounded brain-like domes). Sold as a frag on a 0.5 – 1 inch frag plug. 

Lighting: Low to Moderate (PAR 80–150).

Water Flow: Low to Moderate (Gentle, indirect sweeping current).

Feeding: Active nocturnal LPS carnivore; extends translucent feeder tentacles after dark to capture mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and micro-pellets.

Aggressiveness: Semi-Aggressive (produces clear, stinging sweeper tentacles at night to defend surrounding space).
