Overview:
The Green Lobophyllia (often simply called a Green Lobo or Meat Coral) is the “reliable workhorse” of the Lobophyllia family. While it might not have the triple-digit price tag of a Rainbow or a Master-grade morph, a healthy neon green Lobo provides a massive, glowing footprint on the sand bed that can anchor the entire bottom third of a reef tank.
Coloration: Ranges from soft mint or forest green to “radioactive” neon lime; often features a slightly paler green or white “mouth” in the center of the lobes.
Growth Pattern: Mounding/Lobed (fleshy, interconnected polyps over a dense, heavy skeleton). 1-3 inches in size.
Lighting: Low to Moderate (PAR 80–130).
Water Flow: Low to Medium (Gentle enough to allow the tissue to “balloon” out).
Feeding: High (Enjoys meaty, chunky foods).
Aggressiveness: Moderate (No long sweepers, but will sting neighbors on contact).
Care Level: Easy.
