Favia corals are Large Polyp Stony (LPS) corals characterized by their “honeycomb” skeletal structure where each polyp shares a common wall. They are favored for their geometric patterns and intense fluorescence. Yellow varieties are especially prized for providing a bright, warm contrast against the more common greens and blues found in reef tanks.
